Our Nurses
Alex Szmyt RVN
Alex qualified as a Veterinary Nurse from St. John’s Central College Cork in 2021. Previously, she studied Animal Science in Killester College where she graduated in 2018. Alex has also spent some time volunteering for the Dogs Aid Charity. We have been lucky to have Alex on our team since 2017 when she started here as a student. She has a particular interest in canine and feline dermatology. Any opportunity Alex gets, she is in the clinic working both at the front desk and behind the scenes to provide our patients with excellent care.
When Alex isn’t working, she enjoys spending some quality time with her Chihuahua, Scooby.
Ciara Brady RVN
Ciara graduated from UCD in 2016 with a BSc Honours degree in Veterinary Nursing. After qualifying as a Veterinary Nurse she headed to England and began working in a small animal practice in London. After two years in London she returned home to Ireland to spend the next two years working in a mixed animal practice before joining the Fox Veterinary team in June 2021. She has an interest in nutrition and also loves to help with behavioural issues in problem pups.
Outside of work Ciara enjoys going on walks and adventures with her furry pal, a Pembroke Welsh Corgi, Poppy.
Kellie Anne Purtill RVN
Kellie Anne qualified from Dundalk IT in 2021 with a BSc degree in Veterinary Nursing and holds a previous distinction in QQI level 5 Animal Care from 2017. Joining in February 2017 as a student, she is one of the original members of the Fox Veterinary team! Over the years she has also worked in the Pet Emergency Hospital UCD and has spent some time volunteering with Dogs Trust. She loves working closely with all animals, especially inpatient care and also laboratory work. She is passionate about weight management and nutrition for any pet looking to shed any unwanted pounds.
Outside of work Kellie Anne is kept busy as a professional dancer, but loves to spend time with her Whippet, Duke and feline friend Indie.
Ron O’Reilly RVN
Ron has been a Registered Veterinary Nurse for many years and many of you may remember her from working in the clinic with former owner JJ Fox. Ron has a wealth of experience in all aspects of veterinary nursing and is an invaluable asset to the clinic. She has a love for all animals but seems to have the magic touch when it comes to our feline friends! She takes responsibility of the entire stock in the clinic to ensure we have whatever medication or food may be needed to help your pet.
Ron has many interests, one being wildlife. She has completed both an introductory and advanced Wildlife Rehabilitation course with Wildlife Rehabilitation Ireland (WRI).
Natalie O'Brien RVN
Natalie qualified as a Veterinary Nurse from Dundalk IT in 2020. While studying she completed her placement in a mixed animal practice and a small animal practice. She joined the Fox Veterinary team in April 2021. She has a love for all animals but has a particular soft spot for cats which sparks her interest in feline medicine. She also has a keen interest in inpatient care where she treats all patients like her own!
In her free time you will find Natalie with a book in hand or singing her heart out in her local choir.
Sharon Walsh RVN
Sharon qualified from Dundalk IT in 2021 with a BSc degree in Veterinary Nursing. She also holds a distinction in QQI Level 5 and Level 6 Animal Care. She has previously spent 5 years volunteering with Dogs Aid cattery. She loves caring for animals and has a soft spot for cats (especially ferals) and geriatric animals. Sharon is interested in nutrition and pain management.
Outside of work she enjoys making crafts and spending time with her 3 cats and German Shepherd Kaiser.
Patient Care Team
Niamh Earle ACA
Niamh studied Animal Science in Killester and graduated in May 2019. While studying she spent some time on work placement with us and joined the team full time in January 2020. Last year she spent some time volunteering with Dogs Aid Charity and worked with a groomer for the summer.
During her free time, you will find her in the park walking her Cavachon, Beau or hanging out with her friends.
Leanne Smyth ACA
Leanne studied animal science in Killester and graduated in 2021 with a distinction in QQI level 5. While Leanne studied she spent time on work placement with us and joined the team in January 2022. Leanne is planning on moving forward with her studies and has hopes to become a registered veterinary nurse.
In Leanne's free time she likes to walk her Siberian Husky and spend time with family and friends.
